Mrs. Curwen was an advocate for writing beautiful music for a child’s hands. This book is a compilation of pieces she felt fit that standard. You’ll find 26 pieces of music written with careful growth of knowledge and skill in mind.

In the first few pages of this book, you will find short passages of music. These short exercises are excerpts that correspond to the pieces in the book. Once a student has conquered the short passage, they can easily move on to the full piece of music.

Mrs. Curwen’sTeacher’s Guide references the use of this book in lessons for students in 1st Step, 2nd Step, and 3rd Step.
