What to know prior to watching the student video:
This is the last lesson to finish all the preliminary lesson coursework! As always, consider doing this video in sections, a little at a time each day rather than trying to complete it all in a single sitting.
The final step after completing Lesson 5 will be the exam. But remember, this exam is really to “check the teacher’s work.” That includes me – Kelli – and you the parent helping facilitate the lessons. The steps laid out in the exam will help to identify any gaps in our teaching and we’ll want to take some specific steps go to back to fully secure the foundation of knowledge the Preliminary Lessons are setting forth.

- Label the sounds in the spaces, and practice finding those sounds on the piano.
- Write out some new rhythms and play them on the piano
