What to know prior to watching the student video:
The aim of the exam is to check the teacher’s work; to secure that nothing has been left out, and that the child is ready to begin to use the Lessons, Reading Exercises, and Duets of 1st Step. This check includes me – Kelli – and you the parent helping facilitate the lessons. The steps laid out in the exam will help to identify any gaps in our teaching and we’ll want to take some specific steps go to back to fully secure the foundation of knowledge the Preliminary Lessons are setting forth.
Feel free to use the video below or you may use the Written Explanation found here to administer the exam yourself. The child doesn’t need to know this is an exam, nor is there reason that this must be done in a single sitting.
