Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted – a simplified hymn for Lent

Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted - simplified for children

Hi friends,

I saw this hymn posted on Instagram this week. (BuildingLivingRelationships posted it.) I was not familiar with it, but I thought it was absolutely beautiful.

If you are printing this out for a beginner pianist to play, here are a few things to consider. The hand will have to move twice. You’ll see the fingerings. There is also a sharp sign. When we see a sharp sign, we have to raise the note a half of a step and borrow the black key.

If you are not familiar with this hymn, I encourage you to look up the other three verses not listed in my PDF. It’s a rich hymn to ponder for this time of Lent.
